How Much Is a Wooper Card Worth in 2026?

There are really two Woopers, and both are more famous than they are valuable. The original is the cheerful Johto amphibian from 1999. The other is Paldean Wooper, the regional form that became one of the most beloved little Pokémon of the modern era.

Between them they have dozens of cards, and almost all of them are cheap. The honest headline is that most Wooper cards sell for a dollar or two, and only one vintage print climbs into real money.

That does not make Wooper pointless to know. A few cards are worth owning, and the grading question has a simple answer. Prices move, so treat these as a recent snapshot and confirm live sales first.

What Wooper actually is

Wooper (#194) is a Water and Ground Water Fish Pokémon from the Johto region, introduced in Generation 2. It is best known for its permanent smile and for evolving into Quagsire.

Paldean Wooper is the regional form from Scarlet and Violet, a Poison and Ground variant that evolves into Clodsire. It caught fire with fans thanks to its grumpy charm, and much of the search interest around the Wooper name today is really about the Paldean version.

Why Wooper is searched so much

Wooper punches far above its rarity in popularity. Paldean Wooper and Clodsire became a genuine fandom phenomenon, spawning endless memes, plush, and community affection.

That popularity drives huge search traffic, but it does not lift card prices much, because Wooper is almost always printed as a common or a low-rarity card. High love, low ceiling is the pattern here, the same one that follows most cute non-legendary Pokémon.

What Wooper cards are worth in 2026

Across roughly forty priced original-Wooper prints, values run from a dime to about ninety-three dollars, and the average sits under eight dollars. Paldean Wooper adds a set of modern cards that are mostly inexpensive. Here is the shape of it.

The Wooper cards that matter, ranked

Wooper #66, Aquapolis (2003)

The one Wooper worth real money. This e-Reader era holo tops the charts around ninety dollars, driven by the thin populations that make Aquapolis, Expedition, and Skyridge so collectible. It is the clear vintage chase for the character.

  • Raw NM: about $70 to $95
  • PSA 10: a strong premium over raw, on a very thin population

Centering is the usual obstacle on e-Reader holos, so inspect closely before grading.

Paldean Wooper modern chases

The cards most modern fans actually want. The Paldean Fates shiny #180 and the Phantasmal Flames Illustration Rare #102 are the standout Paldean Wooper prints, both attractive and both affordable.

  • Range: typically a few dollars to low double digits

Buy these for love of the character. They are collectibles, not investments.

Niche vintage, Wooper delta species and EX-era holos

For vintage completists, the delta species Wooper and a handful of EX-era holos are fun oddities. They carry modest premiums over commons, but nothing close to the Aquapolis card.

Everything else

The vast majority of Wooper and Paldean Wooper prints, base cards, reverse holos, and promos, are $0.10 to $5. Pure binder filler.

Should you grade your Wooper?

For almost every Wooper, no. The modern Paldean cards and the commons are worth a few dollars, and grading costs more than the card.

The Aquapolis #66 is the only Wooper where grading clearly makes sense, and only when the copy is clean, since e-Reader centering is unforgiving. The modern Paldean chases are worth grading only if you already own a flawless copy and want the display piece, and even then the upside is small.

Either way, check the card first with the JK Index Grading Readiness Scan before paying submission fees.

Which Wooper should you buy?

Under $15: a Paldean Wooper shiny or Illustration Rare, the best way to own the fan-favorite version.

Vintage pick: the Aquapolis #66 holo, the only original Wooper with real scarcity and staying power.

Collector oddity: a delta species Wooper, cheap and fun for EX-era completists.

Skip: grading commons, and paying up for base prints of either form.

Final take

Wooper is a card where affection and value point in different directions. Paldean Wooper is adored, but the market has never given either form a true high-rarity chase, so prices stay grounded.

Buy a Paldean shiny for a few dollars if you love the character, chase the Aquapolis holo if you want the one genuinely scarce Wooper, and keep everything else in the binder. That is the whole story.
