Gum-Gum Giant and Honesty Impact: One Piece's Most Searched Event Cards

Honesty Impact OP11-018 costs 27 cents. Gum-Gum Giant OP09-078 costs $1.99. Both are among the most-searched cards in the One Piece Card Game.

Their alternate art versions cost $42.98 and $819.54 respectively. Same cards, same numbers, wildly different markets.

This guide covers what each card does, why they're searched so heavily, and what every printing costs. Effects come from Limitless TCG for Gum-Gum Giant and Honesty Impact. Prices come from PriceCharting, pulled 6 October 2026. For the rules behind these effects see TCG Talk's beginner guide.

What Gum-Gum Giant does

Gum-Gum Giant is a Counter-only Event card from OP-09 Emperors in the New World.

Its effect: DON!! −2, and you may trash 1 card from your hand. If your Leader has the Straw Hat Crew type, up to 1 of your Leader or Character cards gains +4000 power during this battle. Then draw 2 cards.

That's a large combat swing attached to serious card advantage. A +4000 counter alone can flip most exchanges, and drawing two afterwards means the card more than replaces itself.

The restriction is the balance. It only works if your Leader is Straw Hat Crew, which locks it to a specific archetype rather than making it universally playable.

What Honesty Impact does

Honesty Impact is an Event card from OP-11 A Fist of Divine Speed, and it works differently.

Main effect: Give up to 1 of your opponent's Characters −4000 power this turn. Then K.O. up to 1 of your opponent's Characters with 6000 power or less.

Trigger effect: K.O. up to 1 of your opponent's Characters with 6000 power or less.

So it's removal that can hit twice: shrink one character and kill another. And because it has a Trigger, it can fire for free when flipped off your Life cards.

That Trigger line matters more than it looks. Taking damage in One Piece moves a Life card to your hand, and a card with a Trigger can resolve immediately instead. Being attacked can hand you free removal.

Why cheap cards get searched most

Both cards cost under $2 in their standard printings, yet they generate heavy search traffic.

The reason is the same as with Mamaragan. Competitive decks run multiple copies, so every player building those decks looks the card up, checks how the Trigger or the DON!! condition works, and buys a playset.

An expensive card gets bought once by a few people. A cheap staple gets bought four times by thousands.

If you're using search volume to judge what a card is worth, these two are a warning. Attention measures how many people need a card, not what it costs.

Values move with the market.

The spread runs from $0.25 to $819.54 on a single card number. That's over 3,000-fold, and the only difference is the printing.

The alternate art from Premium Booster 2 is the collectible. Everything else is a playable you buy in fours.

Related cards share the name: Gum-Gum Giant Gavel OP03-055 trades around $2.51, and Gum-Gum Giant Pistol EB02-021 around $0.25. Different cards, similar naming.

Values move with the market.

Only four printings, and the alternate art is 159 times the English base card.

Note the English and Japanese alternate arts are nearly level at $42.98 and $40.89. That's unusually tight, and it's the opposite of Gum-Gum Giant where English commands 2.9 times the Japanese version.

The pattern across both cards

Three things repeat, and they're worth holding onto when you shop.

The base card is a commodity. Under $2 in both cases, and as low as 25 cents for the Gum-Gum Giant starter deck reprint.

The alternate art is the entire collectible value. $819.54 and $42.98 respectively, against base cards costing pocket change.

No graded comps exist on the cheap versions. Players sleeve these cards, they don't slab them.

So a listing for "Gum-Gum Giant OP09-078" could mean a 25-cent reprint or an $819 alternate art. Always check the treatment, not the card number.

Which should you actually buy?

To play: the cheapest legal printing. The Gum-Gum Giant starter deck reprint at $0.25 and the base Honesty Impact at $0.27 are functionally identical to their expensive siblings.

To collect: the Gum-Gum Giant Alternate Art PRB-02 at $819.54 is a genuine chase card. The Honesty Impact alternate art at $42.98 is an accessible one.

For value: the Japanese Gum-Gum Giant alternate art at $280.26 is roughly a third of the English price for the same artwork.

You can browse Emperors in the New World, Premium Booster 2 and Premium Booster on JK Index, or search every printing through card search.

How JK Index helps

We index the full One Piece catalog with sold history for every printing, tracking alternate art, foil, reprint and starter deck versions of the same card number separately.

Gum-Gum Giant is as clear a case as exists. Seven printings share OP09-078, spanning $0.25 to $819.54. A single price for that card number would be wrong by a factor of three thousand. You can track what you own in your portfolio or check current listings on the marketplace.

The takeaway

Honesty Impact costs 27 cents and Gum-Gum Giant costs $1.99, and both rank among the most-searched cards in One Piece because competitive decks run multiple copies of each.

Their alternate arts are different animals entirely, at $42.98 and $819.54. On these cards the treatment is everything, and the card number tells you nothing about price.

FAQ

What does Gum-Gum Giant do?

It's a Counter Event. DON!! −2 and you may trash a card from hand: if your Leader is Straw Hat Crew, give a Leader or Character +4000 power during that battle, then draw 2 cards.

What does Honesty Impact do?

Main effect gives an opponent's Character −4000 power this turn, then K.O.s a Character with 6000 power or less. It also has a Trigger that K.O.s a Character with 6000 power or less for free.

How much is Gum-Gum Giant worth?

The base foil from Emperors in the New World is around $1.99 and the starter deck reprint $0.25. The Alternate Art from Premium Booster 2 is $819.54 in English and $280.26 in Japanese.

How much is Honesty Impact worth?

The English base card is around $0.27 and the Japanese base $1.32. The Alternate Art is $42.98 in English and $40.89 in Japanese, which is an unusually tight language gap.

Why are these cheap cards searched so often?

Because competitive decks run multiple copies. Every player building those decks looks the card up and buys a playset, which generates more searches than an expensive card few people purchase.

What is a Trigger effect in One Piece?

An effect that fires when the card is flipped from your Life cards after taking damage. Honesty Impact's Trigger K.O.s an opponent's Character with 6000 power or less at no cost.

Does Gum-Gum Giant work with any Leader?

No. Its power boost and draw only apply if your Leader has the Straw Hat Crew type, which restricts it to that archetype rather than making it universally playable.

Should I buy the alternate art or the base card?

Buy the base card to play, since it's functionally identical and costs under $2. Buy the alternate art only if you want it as a collectible, because the gap is entirely about treatment.
